Frequently Asked Questions

“I know nothing about wedding flowers…where do I even start?”

No worries…you’re at the perfect place. Flowers are our job, and we love it! You don’t need to know flower names, shapes of bouquets, construction methods, mechanics, or any of that. As a professionally trained florist, I will do that for you. Start by having a budget in mind (industry recommendations are 15%- 20% of total budget) and saving some pictures that give you the feels of your wedding day, then…inquire here.

“How much do flowers cost?”

Anywhere from free (roadside) to “sky’s the limit”! How much does it cost to hire someone for your wedding flowers? Well that’s the more accurate but also loaded question. Are they professionally trained? How many years of wedding experience do they have? Do they pass along their costs of wedding shows, media technology folks, & advertising to be upfront on platforms like Zola, The Knot, and Wedding Wire? All of these factors play into how much a professional florist costs and if they expect to recoup those costs by passing them on to you!

In 2024, our couples spent up to $12,000 for their wedding blooms, averaging from $3,500-$5,500. Our service ranges from wedding parties to all-day affairs with delivery, installation, stay-over, and strike.

I always provide work arounds and options for our couples. Yes…it takes a little more on our end now, but the results provide a worry free and more fun planning season for you!

“Do you offer packages?”

Yes we do, in a sense. Your flowers are custom…unique to your dreams and vision of your wedding day! When you book with Richwine’s, your wedding blooms are priced as a total package. The trendy “package” pricing is often incomplete, can be misleading, and may give you cookie cutter wedding flowers, like from a big box store. Nothing is wrong with that, unless you are looking to your blooms to be special and unique, with personal delivery, attention to details, professional construction, and heart that is behind every designs.

“Do you have a minimum spend for weddings?”

As your wedding work will take one full week off n the shop floor, with marathon hours two days prior, but planning timing for artistic design then fresh and hardgoods product sourcing, our minimum for full wedding service is set at $3,500. There are lesser options, especially if it’s drop-n-go or CPU, so please inquire! Your total package will take into consideration your floral numbers, style, construction, seasonality, hardware, transportation time, and installation labor.

”Do you rent candles, vases, & linens?”

Yes we do! While we don’t have stockpiles in every color, but our basic rentals include ivory cheesecloth runners, ivory and white drapes, 100+ assorted glass mini-bud vases, brass harlow stands for elevated tiered designs, cylinder glass vases (6”-10’) for floating or pillar candles. We source your candles, or you can, without an upcharge, but please check your venue’s open flame policy before getting your heart set on something!

“How far out should I book?”

Sooner is always better, but we’ll accept bookings from 3 -12 months out. (I’m super flexible, so there’s isn’t a worry with changes….there will be!)

There are many reasons for advance booking including spreading out payments, being in que to get your flowers if you’re requesting varieties of high demand in wedding seasons, taking your time enplaning, reducing stress level by giving your self and your partner time to dream, and communicate, and providing your florist to source materials at the best quality and pricing.

Of course, in circumstances like military deployment uncertainties, we’ve been known to turn a wedding around in 3 weeks, but we all just need to be flexible when that need arises. Let’s go!

“How far will you travel?”

Our closest venue in central PA is 10 minutes down the road. We’ve traveled to New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, South Carolina, and our bouquets have hopped on planes and flown to Arizona!

“Can I have a say in the flowers?”

Absolutely! Our arms are open to plant lovers of all types. As a horticulture major, there is a particular thrill in conversing names and varieties with future brides. So if you know little, or if you’re a seasoned master gardener, we welcome working with you, to give you the most beautiful and stress free day!
